DANIEL ASKILL

Daniel Askill is a New York-based Australian filmmaker and visual artist.

THE NEW YORK TIMES, who recently commissioned a Virtual Reality film directed by Daniel and starring Michael Fassbender, Benecio Del Toro and Charlize Theron, has described his films as 'visually stunning’.  His unique sensibility spans a diverse body of work, which includes music videos, films, stage, commercials, photography and video installations.

His GRAMMY nominated music videos with Sia for Chandelier and Elastic Heart have been viewed over two billion times on line. The stage show Daniel directed with Sia for her world tour has been described as 'one of the greatest moments in Coachella's history’.

In 2001 Askill co-found multidisciplinary studio COLLIDER, which produced his multi-award winning short film WE HAVE DECIDED NOT TO DIE.

His work has been showcased at venues including PALAIS DE TOKYO PARIS, INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ARTS LONDON and the VENICE BIENNALE.

He has directed Music Videos for artists such as Paul Mccartney, U.N.K.L.E, Sia, Placebo, Digitalism, These New Puritans and Phoenix, in addition to global campaigns and fashion films for brands including Apple, Dior, Coke, Cadillac, Smirnoff, Xbox, Sony, Mercedes & Alexander Mcqueen.
